Job Description

Our client is a vibrant, successful and growing family business within the agri / horticulture sector in Northern Ireland. As an independent, family-run business, they have carved out a successful niche as a supplier of choice. Due to ongoing expansion, a superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Leader to play a key role in the current and future growth and success of the business.

This will be both a hands-on role and as such the successful applicant will be equally comfortable in front of the owners and production/packing staff. Excellent communication skills will be essential as will the desire to build a long-term career with a company that will reward excellence and performance.

KEY DUTIES

  • Improve all processes within your job role. Be fully familiar with the company's induction and hygiene practices while completing all your tasks.
  • Be aware of the company's rules, health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete required planting, harvesting, and packing duties within the business or designated external areas outside the main site. Training will be provided to ensure competency.
  • Follow the correct procedure of harvesting and packing products, to ensure that quality is at its highest and the correct packaging is used, so it meets customer requirements. Training will be provided to ensure competency.
  • Keep your work area to the standard of 3 s-ing (sort, sweep, standardise) in line with the company's requirements,
  • to keep other areas within the business - which are not your own work area - better than you found it.
  • Be able to correctly operate equipment, machinery, and vehicles that you must use for the completion of your work, after training has been provided.
  • Inform management or senior team leaders in the event of any product issues, breakages or machinery failure which occur or are observed on site or at designated external sites. Train new team members within your team.

THE PERSON

  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent people management and motivational skills Strong IT and paperwork skills

SALARY

An hourly rate of £13.69 (+overtime) will be on offer to the successful candidate.
