Teaching Assistants looking for a change?
Posted 3 days 22 hours ago by Red 5 People Ltd
By the time many young people reach secondary school, they may disengage from education due to SEMH needs, Autism, or ADHD. Your role will be to re-engage these learners and support them back into education.
This term-time only role offers a salary scale of £23,000 - £27,000 (depending on experience), with all school holidays off and fully paid. However, 10-20 days are allocated for training and development during holiday periods.
You will support young people aged 16-24 in their homes or community settings, delivering 2-3 hour sessions focused on wellbeing, confidence-building, and learning re-engagement. You will typically have a caseload of 10-15 learners.
Your work will include:
- Discussing strategies to manage anxiety.
- Identifying barriers to learning and creating tailored solutions.
- Designing co-curricular activities to make learning more engaging (e.g., linking literacy tasks to their personal interests).
- Helping them develop skills to transition into education, training, and employment.
There may be one or two days per week of classroom-based TA support, but the role is primarily outreach-based, requiring a driver (mileage paid). In terms of outreach, you will cover Kettering, Corby, and Wellingborough.
You must have experience working with young people, such as in roles like:
- Youth Support Worker / Mentor
- Teaching Assistant / HLTA
- Tutor / Teacher
