Teaching Assistant - Make a Real Difference in Young Lives!

Are you a caring and compassionate individual looking for a truly rewarding role? We're a leading, inclusive, and innovative special school in Wiltshire, dedicated to supporting pupils aged 4-19 with diverse special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We're seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our vibrant team, specifically working with our youngest pupils in EYFS, KS1, and KS2 at our Trowbridge Campus.

Why Join Our Team?

When you become a part of our school, you'll discover a truly welcoming and supportive work environment. We believe in family friendly hours and are committed to your professional growth within the SEND sector. Most importantly, you'll experience the incredible reward of making a tangible difference in young people's lives every single day.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in:

  • Supporting pupils with diverse SEND needs across various settings, including enriching experiences like Forest School and hydrotherapy.

  • Creating engaging and inclusive learning environments where every child can thrive.

  • Promoting social and emotional development, helping pupils build confidence and essential life skills.

  • Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff to ensure holistic support.

  • Contributing to a positive and supportive learning atmosphere that encourages growth and well being.

  • Assisting children in core subjects like maths and English.

  • Differentiating work to meet individual learning styles and needs.

  • Using your knowledge of pupils' learning needs to suggest appropriate adjustments to lesson plans.

  • Clarifying and explaining instructions in an accessible way.

  • Motivating pupils and celebrating their achievements.

  • Meeting physical needs while actively promoting independence.

  • Listening attentively to pupils' problems and offering support.

  • Assisting in areas of difficulty and building pupils' self esteem.

What We're Looking For

We value a calm, patient, and positive approach above all else. A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing is essential, alongside an excellent team spirit and strong communication skills. While experience working with children or SEND is preferred, it's not essential - we provide full support and training to help you succeed!
