We are an all-through school (ages 5-16) in the North of Bath, committed to providing exceptional education for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. We're looking for a talented Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.
What You'll DoAs a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in fostering a positive and effective learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with their academic work, offering both individual and group assistance.
- Creating a safe and supportive learning environment specifically tailored for students with SEMH needs.
- Collaborating closely with teachers to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing valuable feedback to teachers.
- Assisting with classroom management and implementing effective behaviour support strategies.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and their families, fostering trust and open communication.
- Participating enthusiastically in school events and activities.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs and possess:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs.
- A genuinely patient, understanding, and empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative school environment.
- A relevant qualification in education or a related field is desirable, but not essential if you have the right experience and mindset.
