Level 4 Teaching Assistant (TA4)

Springwood School is a large primary age Special School (385 pupils aged 5-11) based over a number of sites, catering for pupils with moderate, severe and complex needs. The LINK Education Trust operates the school.

Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, committed, and flexible people to assist in teaching. The role complements the professional work of teachers by giving successful applicants the opportunity and responsibility to plan, prepare, and deliver learning to individuals and/or groups of pupils, and to monitor, assess and record their achievements, progress, and development.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning to individual or group pupils.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupils' progress and development.
  • Create and maintain a learning environment that supports pupils with complex needs.
Qualifications & Criteria

Applicants should be able to demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:

  • Interest in supporting primary age children with complex needs.
  • Ensuring that all pupils are included and supported to develop despite their special educational needs or behaviour challenges.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to provide an appropriate learning environment.
  • Desire to learn new skills and participate in professional development.
  • Previous experience working with school-age young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Readiness to develop skills and expertise to lead groups of pupils.
  • Drive to develop skills and expertise in a nominated area of specialist communication.
