Job Description
Job Overview 
Quay View School is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join our education team on a bank basis.
Quay View School (located in Bere Alston) specialises in providing education for children and young people aged 7-19 with autism (ASD) and social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) related conditions, including trauma and attachment. Safeguarding and wellbeing are paramount and we encourage students to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with teachers, adapting strategies to support learning.
- Collaborate with the education and wellbeing teams to support students to engage and regulate.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
- Be an emotionally available adult for children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs.
- Supporting students' safety and welfare.
- Supporting teaching and learning.
- Supporting students to engage and re-engage in their learning.
- Supporting and devising activities which allow students to regulate their emotions.
- Supporting students in their holistic development.
- Experience working with children and young people who have social/emotional difficulties and/or challenging behaviour.
- Ability to adapt support to meet the individual needs of students, enabling progress in their learning.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including basic ICT proficiency.
- Demonstrated high emotional availability and resilience.
- Able to stay calm and composed under pressure.
