Key Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you may do jobs such as:

• Delivering tailored learning activities to pupils in small groups or one-to-one
• Ensuring pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons and activities
• Listening to pupils read and reading with them individually, in groups, or as a class
• Supporting pupils' social and emotional development, reporting concerns to the teacher as needed
• Assisting the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and encouraging positive conduct
• Helping to plan and prepare lesson activities and classroom materials
• Monitoring pupil progress and guiding learning where appropriate
• Providing regular feedback to teachers on pupil development
• Supporting with extracurricular activities such as breakfast/afterschool clubs, and lunchtime duties
• Carrying out general classroom administration and resource preparation
