SEN Teaching Assistant - Bury
Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Pay: £465 to £550 per week (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Aspire People is working in partnership with a growing Multi Academy Trust in Bury to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position within Key Stage 1.

The role will focus primarily on supporting pupils with SEN, particularly those with autism and SEMH needs, helping them access learning, regulate their emotions and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support staff to provide targeted support for pupils who require additional assistance throughout the school day.
You will help create a positive and engaging learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued and able to succeed. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable, resilient and confident building strong relationships with children who may require additional support with behaviour, communication and emotional regulation.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
Support pupils with autism and SEMH needs to access the curriculum
Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
Help pupils develop social skills, confidence and independence
Implement support plans and targeted interventions
Encourage participation in classroom learning and wider school activities
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and families
Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
While the role would be suitable for a Qualified Teaching Assistant, we would welcome applications from candidates who have experience in:
SEND support within schools
Autism support
SEMH or behavioural support roles
Youth work or mentoring
Care and support work
Alternative provisions or specialist settings

The key requirements for your role are:
Experience supporting children with SEND
Full-time availability (8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent spoken and written English
Eligibility to work in the UK
Willingness to complete safeguarding and pre-employment check
