About the Company

Cavendish View School provides a nurturing and stimulating education for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and special education needs from ages 5 to 11.

Our multi disciplinary team includes teachers, a family liaison officer, teaching assistants, a speech and language therapist, an occupational therapist and a mental health practitioner.

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support Cavendish school in Liverpool with students aged 5 11 years with Autism Spectrum Condition and special education needs.

Fixed term: Maternity Cover. Term Time Only.

Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher to ensure delivery of a high quality education for all students.
  • Provide relevant and appropriate support to students, individually or in groups, to enable them to access the curriculum as independently as possible.
  • Support the class teacher in organising the classroom, its resources, student groupings and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students with ASC, SCLN or complex needs.
  • Work with and manage sensory needs, enabling learners with a sensory diet and/or adopting self regulatory strategies as advised by professionals.
  • Assist learners in developing or refining their independence skills, which may include assistance with personal care elements.
