Axcis Education is recruiting a full time Teaching Assistant for a SEND school in Tiverton, working Monday Friday 8 am 3 pm with a 30 minute break. The role supports children aged primary and secondary, diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and SEMH (trauma). The pay rate is £90 per day. The position may become permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities- Work in a school environment with teachers, support staff, safeguarding leads and family liaisons.
- Teach in small class sizes or on a 1 to 1 basis.
- Support outreach, community programmes and school trips.
- Build confidence, self esteem and act as a role model for vulnerable young people.
- Engage students in lessons, promote positive behaviour and curiosity in subjects.
- Understanding of special needs education.
- Outgoing, friendly and approachable personality.
- Empathetic, nurturing demeanour.
- Able to set safe and clear boundaries following safeguarding guidelines.
- Passion for working with children and developing their wellbeing and education.
- In house training and supportive team.
- Active job inside and outside the classroom.
- Weekly pay every Friday.
- No weekend work - finish by 3 pm.
