Teaching AssistantDo you want a full academic year in KS2 where you build solid classroom experience, support pupils who need extra help, and work in a school with high expectations? Teaching Assistant September 2026 to July 2027 £85 - £105 per day 'Outstanding' primary school, Ward of Ladywood 1:1, small group and general classroom support across KS2The Role: You will support pupils across Years 3 to 6 through a mix of in-class support and targeted 1:1 or small group sessions. Your focus is access to learning, progress, and confidence. In class, you will reinforce instructions, model first steps, and scaffold tasks using practical strategies such as chunking, guided practice, and quick check-ins. You will support routines, transitions, and behaviour expectations so learning stays calm and purposeful.You will also run short, structured sessions linked to weekly class objectives. In reading, you will build fluency, vocabulary and comprehension through focused questioning and evidence-led answers. In writing, you will support sentence accuracy, spelling patterns, punctuation and editing habits. In maths, you will strengthen number fluency and reasoning by breaking tasks into small steps and checking understanding quickly. You will keep brief notes on outcomes and share feedback with the teacher so support stays aligned and groups shift at the right time.The Candidate: You bring patience, clarity, and steady routines. You take feedback well, keep boundaries professional, and stay consistent even when pupils struggle.
- Degree at 2:2 or above in any subject
- Strong literacy and numeracy, confident supporting KS2 learning
- Comfortable supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with clear aims and tidy routines
- Experience with children through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, camps, or volunteering is desirable
- Professional approach to safeguarding, confidentiality, and behaviour expectations
- Enhanced DBS required, plus right to work checks, references, and standard school vetting
