Job Description
About the role

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant - Level 3 to join our friendly school. This role will be varied and involve working with individual children and small groups of children who need different levels of support. There may also be times when you are required to cover the class teachers PPA. In addition you would be working with our team of midday supervisors helping with lunchtimes and developing a range of play opportunities.

Working hours & Salary

Hours of work: 25 Hours as TA3, 4 Hours as MDSA.
Working pattern: Part time, Term time only. (As the position is part time/term time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

  • Teaching Assistant (Single Status Grade 4, Scale Point 9 to 10) - Salary £25,185 per annum (pro rata) to £25,583 per annum (pro rata)
  • Midday Supervisory Assistant (Single Status Grade 3, Scale Point 7) - Salary £24,796 per annum (pro rata)
Responsibilities
  • Work with individual children and small groups of children who need varying levels of support.
  • Cover class teachers when required.
  • Support lunchtime supervision and create play opportunities with the midday supervisory team.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs.
  • Experience in supporting children in KS1 and KS2 with a variety of literacy, numeracy and SEMH difficulties, both in lessons and within a structured intervention.
  • A high standard of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness.

The post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The Trust will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self declaration form as part of the pre employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
