TEACHING ASSISTANT 2A (SEND)

Carr Head Primary School is looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team. The role involves working closely with the SENDco and class teachers to support the progress and achievements of children with additional needs across the primary phases.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a positive and nurturing relationship with the children we support and place this at the centre of all learning provision.
- Support learning in class under the direction of the class teacher or SENDco.
- Deliver individualised support interventions throughout the week and promote the development of independence over time.
- Run a mixture of 1:1 and small group learning activities to facilitate engagement and learning.
- Support and develop social and behavioural skills within the classroom and during outdoor play.
- Relevant NVQ2 qualification or higher
- GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent
- Additional SEND qualification(s)
- First Aid Certificate
- Moving and Handling Training or willingness to undertake
- Experience of working with children within the primary phase
- Recent, relevant experience of working with children with SEND
- Experience of working with a range of SEND needs including SEMH, Autism and physical needs
Hours: 31.25 hours per week, Monday Friday (term time only) from 8:45 am to 3:30 pm.
Salary is quoted on a full time equivalent basis and will be paid pro rata for the part time role.
An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check is required for this position.
