Teacher of Maths Liverpool Permanent Easter or September 2026. Are you a Maths teacher who values precision, clarity and high academic standards?

A high-achieving Liverpool secondary school is recruiting a Teacher of Maths to join permanently from Easter or September 2026 on the Main Pay Scale.

The Maths department achieved outstanding results in 2025: 85% Grade 4; 41% Grade 7-9.

  • Progress 8 Maths score: 0.71
  • 100% Higher Tier entry for top sets

The department consists of 6 teachers, including a Head of Maths, Key Stage Leads and a Numeracy Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Planning is collaboratively designed with clear schemes of work, shared assessments and structured retrieval practice embedded across KS3 and KS4. The school operates a consistent instructional model: Do Now, Explicit Instruction, Guided Practice, Independent Practice. This ensures clarity for pupils and consistency across classrooms.

  • Deliver high-quality Maths teaching to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Collaborate to develop and implement schemes of work and assessments
  • Support and participate in structured retrieval practice and data-driven improvement
  • Contribute to departmental CPD and sharing of best practice
