Plymouth High School for Girls is seeking to appoint a part time Teacher of History (maternity cover) to join our team on a fixed term basis from September 2026. The role involves teaching motivated students and contributing to a supportive learning environment.
You will deliver engaging, high quality History lessons that inspire curiosity, promote analytical thinking and foster a love of learning. Working within a collaborative Humanities department, you will contribute to a shared commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for all students.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping students' wider educational experience, supporting their personal development and encouraging them to be confident, independent learners.
What you will need to succeed- A qualified teacher with QTS.
- Plan and deliver engaging, well structured History lessons that support strong student progress.
- Be passionate about teaching and learning and transforming the life chances of our students.
- Be an aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities.
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools.
Maternity position-fixed term until June 2027, with the potential to be extended to 31/08/2027.
