Job Description
Teacher of English & Religious Education - Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 - £52,490 per annum (MPS/UPS Fringe). Job type: Full-time Permanent. Start date: September 2026. Salary will be based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available.
- Teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, encouraging curiosity, respectful discussion and critical thinking.
- Plan and deliver high quality lessons that challenge and motivate learners of all abilities.
- Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to help every pupil achieve their potential.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment with high expectations for learning and behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and school events.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has strong subject knowledge in English and the ability to teach Religious Education.
- Is passionate about delivering engaging, high-quality teaching.
- Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Is committed to raising achievement and supporting every student to succeed.
