Fortis Trust is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Teacher of English to join our English department in a specialist SEN setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is committed to ensuring every learner, regardless of need, can flourish, progress, and achieve their fullest potential.

As a Teacher of English, you will design and deliver engaging, accessible, and adapted lessons that inspire confidence in reading, writing, and communication catering for students with learning needs, autism and communication difficulties.

The academy seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified teacher of English to join an innovative forward-thinking department. The department currently offers qualifications including entry level and GCSE, and the successful candidate would have the opportunity to teach at all levels.

Bradfields Academy is a vibrant and inclusive Special Educational Needs school that provides high quality education for children and young people with a range of learning needs. Our staff are dedicated professionals who share a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing, personalised learning, and creating an environment where every student feels valued and understood.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified teacher (QTS), ideally with experience in SEN or a strong interest in developing their skills in this field
  • Has a deep understanding of English education and the ability to adapt teaching to a wide range of needs and abilities
  • Is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting students with diverse learning profiles
  • Can work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Is reflective, resilient, and committed to continuous professional growth

Applicants should have a clear understanding of effective teaching, raising and sustaining achievement, and the care and support of complex individuals. They should have a vision and a drive to deliver meaningful and personalised curricula. Both experienced teachers and those just setting out in their careers would be considered.

What We Offer

  • A friendly, supportive, and forward thinking team
  • Ongoing professional development tailored to SEN practice
  • Opportunities to innovate and shape a creative English curriculum
  • A nurturing school environment where staff wellbeing is prioritised
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people

As a member of Fortis Trust, staff benefit from:

  • Staff well-being support, including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Opportunities to be part of meaningful educational development
  • A forward-thinking, supportive community of professionals

Bradfields Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

An enhanced DBS check (Children & Vulnerable Adults) and satisfactory references will be required.

We are an equal opportunities employer.
