About the Role

Our client, a forward thinking secondary school in Hillingdon, is seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join their English department. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students, develop their literacy skills, and foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
• Deliver engaging lessons that enhance students' reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Support students' personal development and academic achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a creative, inclusive, and high achieving English curriculum.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Strong subject knowledge in English, including literature, language, and writing skills.
• Experience teaching secondary school students is preferred.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
• Passion for developing students' literacy and love of literature.
