Due to the ongoing increase in students opting for A Level Biology, we are seeking an exceptional Teacher of Biology to join our outstanding faculty. As part of the Providence Learning Partnership, you will guide highly motivated learners through the complexities of the AQA specification, bridging the gap between high-level theory and rigorous laboratory work in a setting with a national reputation for excellence

• Deliver a dynamic AQA curriculum: Lead the exploration of the biological world, from the intricate biochemistry of cells and genetic variation to the complexities of energy transfers and gene expression, ensuring students master the rigorous evaluative and mathematical skills required by the AQA specification.

• Mastery of Practical Science: Lead outstanding teaching that bridges the gap between high-level theory and rigorous laboratory work. You will ensure students achieve full competency in the AQA Required Practicals, fostering the technical precision needed for university-level research.
• Strategic academic development: Take a lead role in refining our A Level delivery, focusing on the synoptic demands of AQA Paper 3 -including the 25-mark essay-ensuring our students are prepared for the demands of high-stakes examinations and the transition to elite universities.
• Champion STEM engagement: Be part of a Faculty that celebrates curiosity and enrichment-from our "MedSoc" and Biology Olympiad entries to ecological fieldwork and partnerships with local universities.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is an outstanding A Level practitioner with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes in AQA Biology (we also welcome applications from ambitious ECTs or teachers ready for their first specialist post).
• Possesses deep subject expertise across the biological sciences, with the ability to explain complex biochemical pathways and physiological systems with clarity and enthusiasm.
• Brings a passion for scientific discourse that motivates learners to engage with contemporary ethical debates and develop their own evidence-based conclusions.
• Is committed to collaborative, evidence-informed teaching, working within the Science Faculty to trial new strategies for retrieval practice, mathematical fluency in science, and synoptic thinking.
• Understands how to build student confidence, preparing them for high-level progression into Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry, and other competitive degree pathways.
