We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and passionate teacher to join our strong and high-performing Creative Arts team. This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner to join a fantastic team and school. We welcome applications from teachers looking to take up their first teaching post, or from experienced teachers. A passion for Creative Arts and the many opportunities this can open for students is key.
The successful candidate will join a close, friendly and supportive team of teachers, all of whom are specialists in their subject. We are looking for a candidate with the skills and experience to make a real difference and contribute to our students' love of both Art and Drama and continue the success of the Creative Arts team, and someone who will be a team player in this oversubscribed, friendly and high-achieving school where we challenge all students and staff to be the best they can be.
The Creative Arts team are based in our Perry Studios and the recently opened, new Watson Theatre.
We are looking for:
- an excellent teacher of Art and Drama to KS3 and KS4
- a strong presence and the ability to form excellent relationships with students and all stakeholders
- an innovative thinker who is able to find creative solutions and think on their feet
- a driven and motivated professional who works hard and always strives to ensure students have the very best learning experience in Art or Drama
- a teacher who is keen to develop and progress within the profession
Our teachers have excellent support and many opportunities for training, progression and sharing of good practice across the Weydon Multi Academy Trust. We have a strong induction programme for all new staff and we can support colleagues that are new to the teaching profession with our ECT programme, and also more experienced staff with undertaking NPQs.
Within school you will have support from our extended Student Support Team, including the Welfare Team, Engagement Team and Learning Support team. We have a team of excellent and dedicated teachers, tutors and Middle Leaders across the school and our students are a delight to work with and achieve consistently excellent progress in their GCSEs.
We are an oversubscribed and friendly school with big ambitions, and our staff and students are proud to belong proud to achieve. Our school has undergone significant refurbishment over the last three years, including a new English block and Library (The Toksvig Building) and a recent state-of-the-art extension to our Drama studio, the Watson Theatre.
