Job Description
Teacher in Professional Construction Studies

Join Tameside College as a Teacher in Professional Construction Studies, commencing 17th August 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and develop teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles.
  • Maintain high quality of teaching and undertake curriculum development that meets learner needs.
  • Assess learner progress in College or on work experience and devise assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Enthusiastic, resilient, highly motivated with Literacy and Numeracy at least Level 2.
  • Level 3 qualification or relevant NVQ (or equivalent) in one of the following construction trades: Electrical, Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Plumbing, Painting & Decorating.
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification: Certificate in Education / PGCE / Bachelor of Education or required to achieve Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) within 3 years of appointment.
  • Relevant assessment qualifications - IQA / A1 / V1 and evidence of current Continuous Professional Development.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions

Permanent full time position based in Ashton Under Lyne, Greater Manchester.

Salary: £33,809 to £46,603 per year.
