Advert for EYFS class teacher - Burrington C of E Primary School
The governors are seeking to appoint an inspiring and caring class teacher for September 2026 to join our vibrant and friendly school team. The post is part time three days plus additional PPA (likely to be Thurs/Fri/Mon) a week within our Cherry Class. The Cherry class consists of 15 reception children and is a shared classroom with up to 13 Nursery children from the ages 3-4.
Burrington is a delightful four class rural primary school in the Mendip Hills. We are an inclusive Church School with a strong Christian ethos. We became part of a federation with Wrington Primary in November 2018 and joined Lighthouse Schools' Partnership in January 2023. The school was awarded an 'Expected Standard and a Strong Standard' judgement in its most recent Ofsted (2025) and an 'excellent' judgement in SIAMS (2018).

- a willingness to lead a subject (maths, computing or science would be advantageous but other subject areas considered);
- be aspirational for all children and ambitious for the most vulnerable children and those from disadvantaged backgrounds;
- flexible, enthusiastic, well organised and with a positive outlook;
- supportive of the school's Christian ethos.
