Are you an experienced nurse looking for your next challenge? Do you have a passion for public health and a desire to work with diverse communities to reduce health inequalities? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate nurse who wants to make a meaningful difference to people affected by, or at risk of, tuberculosis (TB). Our TB Service combines public health and clinical nursing, supporting individuals of all ages. We focus on preventing illness, reducing inequalities, and protecting the health of our communities, while also recognising the physical, psychological, social, and emotional impact TB can have on patients and their families.
You will need excellent communication skills and enjoy working with adults, young people, and children from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. With strong organisational abilities, you will deliver outpatient clinics in both community and hospital settings, work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and provide care in patients' homes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- New entrant screening
- Contact tracing and screening
- Mantoux testing
- BCG immunisation
- Supervision of treatment, including directly observed therapy (DOT)
- Managing a caseload of TB patients with full support from senior nurses
About you: You must be a registered nurse with strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to supporting colleagues within the team. Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
Additional information: The service operates Monday to Friday, and you will work across the Leeds district. A valid driving licence and access to an appropriate vehicle are essential. We strongly encourage you to contact the service before submitting your application.
