Senior Tax Manager - Indirect - Europe and Africa

Description

  • Review and analyse complex business transactions, identifying tax-sensitive issues and providing clear, well-documented recommendations.
  • Lead and support tax-related projects, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and business needs.
  • Manage and advise on significant non-income tax audits, including negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Monitor and interpret tax law changes, assessing their impact and communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Oversee tax compliance and risk management processes, ensuring adherence across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Provide strategic tax guidance on cross-border transactions, VAT, customs duties, and indirect tax developments including new taxes (sugar tax, plastic tax, ).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive automation and digitalisation of tax compliance processes.
  • Work with the technical in-house team (IT) and global software vendors to meet the deadlines for all the tax digitalisation projects in the region (e-invoicing, SAF-T, ).
  • Support financial reporting from a tax perspective, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and tax authorities.
  • Mentor and support Controllership and Shared Service Centre (Global Business Services) teams handling routine tax compliance matters.

Profile

A successful Tax Manager should have:

  • CPA/CTA/ACA qualification
  • Big 4 Tax experience
  • Experience with indirect tax within industry or complex tax within practice
  • Able to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Strong organisational skills
