Job Description

The Targeted Youth Support Manager is a key leadership role responsible for delivering the Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS) across Oxfordshire. You will collaborate with colleagues, partners, stakeholders, and young people to ensure effective service provision.

Main duties of the job
  1. Lead the planning and delivery of targeted youth services for young people aged 11-18, 25 SEN.
  2. Evaluate and quality assure work with young people in various settings, including street-based youth work.
  3. Utilize data to assess impact and inform service planning.
  4. Manage and lead the staff team, adhering to policies and HR procedures.
  5. Develop partnerships across sectors such as health, education, police, and VCSE.
  6. Stay informed on youth work policies, including Statutory Duty 507B, and implement updates.
  7. Oversee commissioned services like Hear4Youth, Cranstoun, and TellMi.

The role requires flexibility to adapt to the varied needs of young people and to use a solution-focused approach to support their self-esteem, confidence, and positive decision-making.

About you
  • Extensive recent experience leading youth support services.
  • Qualification in youth work (with JNC) or related field.
  • Management qualification and experience leading diverse teams.
  • Approaches rooted in anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices.
  • Partnership and community engagement experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with professionals and in political environments.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and databases.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to travel across Oxfordshire easily.

This is a county-wide role, requiring access to various locations across Oxfordshire.
