An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position as a System Support Officer within the Humberwide Ophthalmology department, which is part of the Head and Neck Care Group.
This role offers an opportunity for an aspiring System Support Officer who is motivated, forward thinking and dynamic.
ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will provide high quality system support and support the maintenance and development of the Ophthalmology Department systems.
Primarily focused on the end user, the role includes day to day troubleshooting, information technology projects, diagnostic equipment support, ad hoc advice, and training on information technology and other general tasks supporting the Technical and Data Manager.
The postholder will provide face to face first line support for the Ophthalmology Outpatients, Pre assessment, Day Case, Theatre and Ward areas.

Person Specification Professional Qualifications- Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience in an IT end user service/supporting field
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines without supervision and on own initiative
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Effective team player
- Relevant established experience of working in an IT Technical environment in a support role with IT end users
- Technical knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Office 365, Adobe
- Previous experience of information systems and database management
- Experience using Lorenzo and Medisoft/Medisight electronic patient record system
- Good working knowledge of Ophthalmology operational processes
- Ability to cope with a large, unpredictable workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work flexibly according to service demands
- Creative and solution orientated
- Confident, assertive and approachable
