Switchgear Engineer HV, MV Open to non-experienced Alexandra Job ID: Responsibilities
  • Support HV/MV switchgear projects from engineering through commissioning and handover.
  • Review and coordinate technical documents, including SLDs, GA drawings, wiring diagrams, protection interfaces, and datasheets.
  • Manage technical interfaces across switchgear, protection relays, SCADA/RTU, and auxiliary systems.
  • Review OEM technical submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications, IEC standards, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate technical clarifications with clients, consultants, and OEMs.
  • Assist in technical evaluation of vendor offers and deviations.
  • Manage scope clarification, spare parts, tools, warranties, and vendor documentation progress.
  • Provide technical guidance during installation, cabling, wiring, and site interface works.
  • Support troubleshooting to ensure adherence to method statements, ITPs, and quality standards.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
  • Prepare test procedures, records, and energization readiness documentation in collaboration with OEM and HV testing teams.
  • Prepare and compile as-built drawings, test reports, O&M manuals, and warranty documents for handover.
  • Ensure all documentation meets client requirements.
  • Comply with WSH policies and local electrical safety regulations.
  • Participate in risk assessments and toolbox meetings.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance installation and commissioning quality.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical infrastructure projects involving HV/MV switchgear.
  • Experience with 22kV / 6.6kV MV switchgear or 66kV / 230kV / 400kV HV switchgear (AIS/GIS) is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HV/MV switchgear systems, drawings, and OEM documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate technical interfaces across protection, SCADA/RTU, and auxiliary systems.
  • Familiarity with FAT/SAT processes and commissioning readiness.
  • Strong technical writing skills for method statements, ITPs, and handover documentation.
  • Understanding of Singapore electrical safety practices, codes, and WSH regulations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience contributing to engineering or commissioning process improvements is an added advantage.
