Survey Manager - Infrastructure (Major Highways Project) Gloucester
Salary £65,000-£70,000 Full-time Site-based (5 days per week)
A leading UK infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Survey Manager to join a flagship highways scheme in Gloucester. This is a key leadership role on a major project, offering the opportunity to shape delivery through high-quality survey control, data management, and team coordination.
The OpportunityYou'll take ownership of all survey-related activities on-site, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently. Working closely with engineering, BIM, and GIS teams, you'll play a central role in maintaining control, tracking progress, and supporting critical construction phases.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate site survey teams, providing clear direction and hands on support
- Establish and maintain a robust survey control network
- Oversee setting out, topographical and as built surveys, including laser scanning and point cloud processing
- Manage survey data to monitor and report on construction progress
- Support earthworks and civils operations through accurate measurement and interpretation
- Collaborate with Site Engineers and digital teams to communicate updates, changes, and approvals
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
- Implement QA processes and manage permits to dig for safe execution of works
- 10+ years' experience in surveying within infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- Working towards or holding membership with a recognised body (e.g. CICES, RICS)
- Strong understanding of survey control, setting out, and data management
- Proficient with survey equipment (Trimble, Leica, Topcon) and software (AutoCAD, Trimble Business Centre, Leica Infinity)
- Able to produce 2D/3D drawings and interpret technical data effectively
- Confident communicator with strong attention to detail and record-keeping
- Experience preparing method statements and risk assessments
