Supported Accommodation Manager

Location: Birmingham, England

Sector: Social Care

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum (plus bonus)

About the Role

Supported Accommodation Manager responsible for leading and managing the day to day operation of a supported accommodation service for young people aged . The role aims to provide a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence and positive outcomes for young people preparing for adulthood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day to day running of the supported accommodation service
  • Ensure compliance with Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and Ofsted requirements
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times
  • Develop, implement and review support plans, risk assessments and placement plans
  • Supervise, support and develop staff, including inductions and performance management
  • Ensure effective safeguarding procedures are followed, including responding to and reporting incidents appropriately
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local authorities, placing authorities and partner agencies
  • Monitor and improve service quality through audits, feedback and continuous improvement processes
  • Provide effective leadership, direction, and management of the home and staff team
  • Ensure the home operates in line with its Statement of Purpose
  • Create a positive, child centred culture that promotes safety, stability, and emotional wellbeing
  • Lead by example, modelling professional standards and therapeutic approaches
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in children's social care, supported accommodation or a related field
  • Experience working with looked after children or care leavers
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and risk management
  • Level 3 or Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager
  • Experience working in an Ofsted regulated environment
  • Knowledge of leaving care frameworks and pathway planning
