About The Role
Key InformationPay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Experience: Essential - full training and shadowing will be provided
Hours: Flexible part time
Weekend availability required (flexible rota)
Mileage: Higher hourly pay - claim mileage separately via HMRC; otherwise slightly lower pay with mileage paid through payroll

- Provide caring, person centred support based on each individual's needs, goals and preferences.
- Encourage people to be as independent as possible and build confidence in everyday life.
- Help individuals make their own choices and stay in control of their routines and decisions.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with the people you support.
- Support with personal care when needed - washing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility.
- Assist with medication safely and follow agreed support plans.
- Help with preparing meals, healthy eating and staying hydrated.
- Offer emotional support and a listening ear during difficult times.
- Encourage positive coping skills and wellbeing.
- Notice changes in mood, behaviour or mental health and report concerns.
- Support people to attend appointments and access services when needed.
- Support people in ways that suit their communication needs.
- Encourage participation in activities, hobbies and community life.
- Promote positive behaviour and help individuals manage challenges safely and respectfully.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans when required.
- Accompany people to appointments, work, college, volunteering, shopping and social activities.
- Support with budgeting, managing money and accessing community services.
- Encourage people to develop life skills and become more independent.
- Help individuals build confidence when travelling and accessing the local community.
- Assist with everyday household tasks - cleaning, laundry and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Support individuals with tenancy responsibilities where applicable.
- Encourage people to take part in household tasks and develop independent living skills.
- Help ensure individuals are safe, respected and protected from harm.
- Report safeguarding concerns straight away.
- Follow risk assessments and support plans to keep people and colleagues safe.
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- Keep clear and accurate records of support provided.
- Report any concerns or changes in a person's health, wellbeing or behaviour.
- Respect confidentiality and handle information appropriately.
- Work closely with colleagues, families, healthcare professionals and other agencies.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions and supervision meetings.
Share ideas and contribute to improving the quality of support provided.
