Hi, I'm Sebastian! I'm in my mid-twenties, I've got a great sense of humour, I love my electric guitar, and I'm always up for a good concert, I am in an online choir and enjoy online music groups. I'm looking for energetic, caring, and reliable people to join my support team and help me live life to the fullest.
Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire
Hours: 73.50 hours per week, these hours will be shared by more than 1 person either as full-time or part-time hours. Typical shifts include weekdays and weekends, days (07:45-19:00) and waking nights (18:45-08:00). 24 hour on call shifts available for holidays. Bank hours also available on a 2 week rolling rota to cover absences of the current team.
Pay and Benefits:
- £15.15/hour (Monday to Friday days and waking nights)
- £17.58/hour (Saturday and Sunday and waking nights)
- On call, £25 for 12 hours, Loco Parentis. If called in to cover a shift, the shift will be paid at 1.5 x appropriate rate
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata)

About the Role:
I have Cerebral Palsy and I'm non verbal, but I use eye gaze technology to communicate. I also receive all my food and fluids through a PEG, and full training will be provided for this.
You'll be working in my family home and out in the community, helping me with all aspects of daily living, keeping track of medical supplies, and planning activities I enjoy. I would love to go to a music festival and concerts this year. I am an avid guitarist with support from my team. I am a bit of a practical joker with a great sense of humour.
I require 2:1 care 24/7, so you'll always be working alongside another team member. You might even get to come on holiday with me!
A heads up: I live with a cat, who lives in the main part of the house.
Driver desirable: You'll need to drive my Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (automatic), so a full UK driving licence is desired.

Main Skills and Behaviours
You should have experience of working with someone who has cerebral palsy and be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull. Supporting in the home environment as well as assisting with appointments, liaising with health professionals and therapists and following advice and recommendations whilst ensuring Sebastian's safety and welfare. Comfortable working in Sebastian's own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family. By nature, you should be friendly, approachable and have an encouraging approach.
Great organisational skills, punctual, patient, and reliable qualities are something Sebastian will rely on so this is key in supporting him.
