Earn £13.45 per hour (£26,300 per annum) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

1x Permanent and 1x Fixed Term (Maternity Cover), full time (37.5 hpw) based on rota, shifts including weekends and Bank Holidays - Gateshead

As our support worker, you'll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service. Furthermore, you'll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex needs and are fleeing domestic violence to develop their skills to live more independently in the community.

What you'll do

• Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans.
• Supporting women and families fleeing domestic abuse and creating a safe, positive space where dignity and respect come first.
• Helping customers with daily living activities such as shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
• Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
• Encouraging independence and celebrating wins.

You have

• Passion to support our customers to live their best lives
• Experience of caring for others, professionally or personally
• The ability to work on your own initiative, staying calm and positive under pressure
• Recognise every customer is different and adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to understand their needs
• A Level 2 diploma in Care or equivalent experience (or willing to study towards it)

Where we're flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.

Working a rolling rota, working 12 hour shifts with 1 hour break.

Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
