Job Description

This is a temporary Support Worker role at Elysium Healthcare in Barnsley, where you will be part of a team providing care and support to people with mental health conditions. The role involves assisting with ward rounds, analyzing behaviors, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include helping with personal hygiene. Main duties of the job

As a Support Worker, you will join an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care to people with mental health conditions. You will use your knowledge, experience, and caring nature to help people along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors and adapting care accordingly, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. However, it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

What you will be doing

The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • No specific qualifications are required for this Support Worker role, but relevant experience in a healthcare or social care setting would be beneficial. The key attributes required are a caring nature, compassion, resilience, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
