About the Role
As a Support Worker at Albert House, you will provide practical and emotional care, helping residents lead as ordinary a life as possible. Flexibility is essential as shifts include weekends, bank holidays, and potential sleep-ins.
Main Duties:
Implement individual support plans and activities in a challenging environment
Maintain effective communication with service users, families, and colleagues while respecting confidentiality
Support with meals, laundry, cleaning, and social activities
Maintain accurate notes and records
Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality care
Provide personal care as required
About the Service
Albert House supports 8 adults with profound physical and learning disabilities, all wheelchair users, aged 40-65. Residents enjoy trips to local day centres, shops, and cafes, as well as social and recreational activities in-house. The service offers fully accessible living spaces, a multi-sensory and relaxation area, and a safe, supportive environment.
Who We're Looking For
Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards one)
Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, and/or mental health needs
Calm, confident, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Passion for working with vulnerable adults and commitment to high safeguarding standards
