Job Description

We are working in partnership with a highly respected specialist college in Enfield, North London, seeking a dedicated and proactive Support Staff to join the team immediately. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support post-16 learners across both academic and vocational programmes in a unique learning environment. Students participate in Entry Level Maths and English alongside practical, hands on subjects including Floristry, Garden Design, Animal Care, and Agriculture.

Position

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a learner with SEND needs, including:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting learning within the classroom
  • Assisting during practical vocational sessions
  • Encouraging confidence, engagement, and independence
  • Supporting outdoor learning activities throughout the year

As part of this role, you'll spend time in outdoor settings, so you should be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.

What We're Looking For
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
  • Strong IT and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use your initiative
  • Comfortable supporting learners in practical and outdoor environments
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Previous experience supporting young people with SEND or working within a college/education setting is desirable

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.
