Aneurin Bevan University Health Board offers an exciting development opportunity to join the Urology Secretarial team as a Support Secretary.
This fixed term secondment position runs for 12 months and requires the candidate to work between 09:00 and 17:00. Successful applicants must obtain permission from their current line manager prior to applying.
Responsibilities- Provide secretarial support to Clinical Nurse Specialists, Consultants and the department as and when needed, including during periods of sickness and annual leave.
- Type and manage correspondence, clinic/ result letters and general correspondence accurately and within departmental time limits.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and maintain confidentiality.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Qualifications and Knowledge- Knowledge of secretarial procedures and systems, acquired through training and experience to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent.
- Computer literate with excellent Word processing/keyboard skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Studying toward Medical Secretarial Qualification.
- Experience working in a hospital environment.
- Previous experience in a clerical/secretarial role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and members of the public.
- Experience within the NHS and overall experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet delivery requirements.
- Ability to integrate with the existing team and work collaboratively.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure.
