Support Engineer - Transportation Fin Tech Business onboarding

Transportation Financial Systems (TFS) manages the technology components responsible for financial activities in the transportation business. These systems are used across all transportation programs and retail expansions into new geographies. TFS systems facilitate financial document creation & management, expense auditing, accounting, payments, and cost allocation functions. Our modern products are highly scalable and operate at a detailed level to reconcile every dollar in transportation financial accounts automatically. Our goal is to develop a global product suite for all freight modes, covering every package movement across Amazon, aiming to simplify logistics and financial processes.

The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving production software issues, developing monitoring solutions, maintaining and configuring software, implementing fixes for code written in Perl, Ruby, Java, performing SQL queries, and tracking technical challenges. It also includes end-to-end functional testing, debugging financial automation issues, setting up infrastructure stacks for financial programs, collaborating with development teams on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating software, automating support processes, and documenting systems.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, be well-organized, capable of multitasking, work independently, and maintain professionalism under pressure. They should proactively identify potential problems and implement solutions to prevent outages, prioritize projects effectively, and aim to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Key job responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues.
  • Develop monitoring solutions and perform software maintenance and configuration.
  • Implement fixes for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, Java).
  • Perform SQL queries and resolve technical challenges.
  • Conduct functional end-to-end testing and debugging for financial automation.
  • Set up infrastructure stacks for financial programs.
  • Collaborate on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects.
  • Update and enhance existing software and automate support processes.
  • Document system configurations and procedures.
A day in the life
  • Understand customer requirements for functional testing and implement configurations for program launches.
  • Identify and execute relevant test cases.
  • Leverage internal automation tools for testing and issue resolution, developing necessary code changes.
  • Resolve compliance issues such as SAS and Shepherd risks within timelines.
  • Participate in daily sprint exercises and update project statuses.
  • Enhance knowledge of new features and capabilities for functional testing.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Experience working in Unix environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with AWS, networks, and operating systems.
