Job Description
Support Assistant

6 High Street, Dodworth, Barnsley, S75 3RF

£13.15 per hour

22.5 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Support customers with mental health needs to build confidence and reach their potential
  • Provide a hands on, high quality support service
  • Encourage daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and community involvement
  • Promote social inclusion and help customers develop resilience and self esteem
  • Work with agencies on behalf of customers, encouraging choice and acting as an advocate when needed
  • Maintain a safe environment and follow relevant regulations and practices
  • Show a caring and approachable nature
  • Keep accurate records and share information clearly with the team
  • Exercise excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families and agencies
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Adopt a positive and accepting approach to customers regardless of their needs
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it
  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
