Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Integrated Materials Management involves the total integration of Purchasing, Inventory Management and Customer Service / Logistics. Cross-functional commitment and teamwork are essential, along with a flexibility and openness to new methods of working. Flexibility with regards to the undertaking of duties and responsibilities is imperative. Full responsibility and accountability for duties is essential. Continuous development in best practices and training will be an integral part of the position, resulting in continuous improvement in the application of professional knowledge and skills to enable operatives to become skilled in all aspects of Materials Management. The purpose of the job is to fully support the Procurement & Supplies Department through cross functional teamwork.
. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Scanning products through barcoding and Kanban systems.
- Operate, control and manage Kanban systems, consignment systems, efinancials material management system.
- Implement and manage new Kanban locations.
- Responsible for ensuring inventory SCM transactions are accounted for and accurate records are maintained.
- Manage stock and non-stocked products throughout the organization and all processes and systems relating to requisitioning, provisioning, picking, issuing, receipting, and delivering.
- Ensure Kanban areas and stores premises, services and inventory are maintained in proper condition and take appropriate measures and precautions to prevent deterioration, misuse, misappropriation, or loss of goods.
- Carry out duties as directed within all sections of the SCM function to ensure goods or services are available to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure operational procedures and systems are carried out in accordance with Hospital policies and statutory requirements.
- To analysis, review and forecast all aspects of SCM within the organization.
- To liaise with other departments regarding requirements and provide advice and assistance as required.
- Co-ordinate and maintain all procedures and records relating to the day to day operation of the Hospitals SCM function.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and / or experience
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition can demonstrate all of the following:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Supply Chain Management environment.
- Excellent MS Office skills essential - specifically Excel
- Experience of managing competing priorities and deadlines, where the ability to analyse and interpret information to make decisions quickly and accurately is required.
- Must have excellent planning and organisational skills
- Have an understanding of Public Procurement processes and regulations, and have the ability to apply processes to specific Procurement requirements.
- Must have own transport.
