Supplier Quality Engineer

County Down £40 -45, 000 + Benefits

Energis is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful engineering company based in County Down. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, our client is seeking to appoint a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to develop within the existing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of supplier quality performance across a range of major projects. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are maintained, supplier relationships are strengthened and materials are delivered on time to support business operations.

The Role

As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will work closely with approved suppliers to monitor performance, drive quality improvements and ensure compliance with required standards. You will act as a key point of contact between suppliers and the business, helping to maintain quality, minimise risk and support production continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Evaluate supplier performance against agreed quality and delivery standards
  • Conduct supplier assessments, audits and performance reviews
  • Monitor supplier quality metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support supplier approval processes and ongoing supplier development activities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and internal procedures
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Produce reports and communicate quality performance outcomes to stakeholders
  • Support production continuity by monitoring supplier responsiveness and delivery performance
  • Travel to supplier sites where required

About You

  • Experience within a Supplier Quality Engineer role or a similar quality-focused position
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel for supplier visits as required
