Job Description
Supervising Social Worker Ofsted "Outstanding" IFA

An esteemed Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) is currently seeking a dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This agency is celebrated for its "Outstanding" Ofsted rating and a unique operational structure that allows practitioners to focus on high-quality relationship building.

Unlike traditional roles, this position segregates tasks effectively, the successful candidate will focus entirely on the support and development of foster carers, as Form F assessments and referrals are managed by specialist internal departments.

Job Summary & Strategic Focus
  • The primary goal is to empower foster carers through intensive, high-level support, ensuring children in placement receive the highest standard of care.

  • The role offers a manageable caseload, allowing for meaningful intervention.

  • Practitioners work alongside Behaviour Specialists, Health Professionals, and Educational Advisers to provide a holistic support network.

  • Central office is based in Sheffield, with the caseload primarily covering the East Midlands (Mansfield and Nottingham).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Delivering intensive, monthly supervision sessions to a designated caseload of approved foster carers.

  • Conducting a mix of planned and unannounced visits to monitor the welfare of children and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Designing and reviewing bespoke annual training plans to enhance the professional development and resilience of carers.

  • Maintaining strict adherence to the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Standards.

  • Contributing to the out-of-hours (OOH) telephone duty rota, providing essential guidance to carers during evenings and weekends (approx. 2-3 times per month).

  • Collaborating with dedicated Support Workers who assist with practical tasks, such as 1:1 emotional support and transport for children.

Remuneration & Professional Benefits
  • Financial Package: A highly competitive base salary supplemented by a £3,400 car allowance.

  • Generous Leave: 30 days of annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays.

  • Enhanced OOH Pay: Duty shifts are paid at £25 for weekdays, £50 for weekends, and double-rate for Bank Holidays.

  • Health & Wellbeing: Access to private healthcare options (following a qualifying period) and reimbursement of SWE registration fees.

  • Future Security: Enrolment in the agency's pension scheme and access to continuous professional development.
