Job Description
Substation Delivery Manager - Preconstruction/Installations

Substation Delivery Manager required to join one of Ireland's largest Electrical & Civil contractors delivering HV substation, grid, and renewable energy projects nationwide. Our client provides engineering, construction, and installation services across the power and energy sector, including HV/MV substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and renewable energy connections.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of HV/MV substation projects from pre construction through to handover.
  • Manage project programmes, construction schedules, resources, and key project milestones.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review project scope, construction methodologies, risk registers, and buildability considerations during pre construction phases.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Support procurement activities, including material schedules, vendor coordination, and long lead equipment planning.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, risks, and reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements, project specifications, and industry standards.
  • Oversee project documentation, quality records, handover packages, and as built information.
  • Support site teams during installation, energisation, and project close out activities.
Qualifications / Skills
  • 5+ years' experience delivering HV/MV substation, power, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of substation construction, installation, and project delivery processes.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Knowledge of project planning and scheduling tools, including MS Project.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, programmes, and risks.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
  • Full clean driving licence.
