We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team at HMP Millsike in Yorkshire. HMP Millsike is a new state of the art Category C prison, with a capacity of 1500 males.
Join the Recovery Team and empower those who wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients and delivering outstanding care.
Job summaryHours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week. 6:45am - 5:45pm over 3 or 4 days, Monday to Friday only, no weekends or nights.
Salary: You'll receive an annual salary of up to £33,510 per annum.

- Manage a caseload of psychosocial patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc.
- Work with receptions (new patients entering the prison), triage and carry out assessments.
- Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness, harm reduction, motivation to change, relapse prevention and wellbeing.
- Deliver SMART sessions, Narcotics Anonymous, Inside Out etc.
- Provide a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments, including SMART Recovery.
- Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
- Prepare patients for release and transfer.

- Experience within substance misuse, ideally in a prison/secure environment and within a Recovery Worker/Practitioner role.
- Experience of working within the substance misuse multi disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways.
- Experience of managing a caseload.
- Flexible approach and excellent communication skills.
