We are currently seeking a confident and approachable Student Information Desk Receptionist to join a busy secondary school in Wakefield. This is a full-time temporary position starting in September and continuing until the October half-term break.
As the first point of contact for students throughout the school day, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of day-to-day enquiries and ensuring the smooth running of the Student Information Desk.
Key Responsibilities:- Acting as the first point of contact for students requiring assistance.
- Managing student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
- Supporting students with uniform issues and facilitating uniform changes where required.
- Managing lost property queries, including receiving and returning items.
- Contacting parents/carers on behalf of students when necessary.
- Recording and updating student information accurately on school systems.
- Maintaining a calm, professional and welcoming environment for students.
- Have previous experience in a reception, administration, customer service or school-based role.
- Be confident using computers and learning new systems quickly.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be comfortable making and receiving telephone calls to parents/carers.
- Have a friendly, approachable and professional manner.
- Be able to remain calm when dealing with a busy student-facing environment.
- Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Be reliable, flexible and able to work independently when required.
