About the roleThe UK Student Recruitment Team is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Student Recruitment Assistant to join our fast paced team. The higher education sector is increasingly competitive, and we are continuing to develop and innovate our student recruitment activity. We are therefore looking for an organised, proactive and collaborative individual who is keen to support this work and contribute positively to a period of growth and change.
As Student Recruitment Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our programme of recruitment events and activities. A central part of the role involves working with our student ambassador team, who support recruitment activity throughout the year. You will assist with recruiting, training, booking and processing payments for ambassadors, as well as supporting the planning and delivery of on-campus events.
You may also support virtual events and off-campus recruitment activity, travelling mainly within the North West. This will involve attending events and engaging with potential students, parents, teachers, employers, careers advisers and other key influencers, providing advice and guidance on our undergraduate, postgraduate and degree apprenticeship provision.
About youThis is a varied, people-focused role, suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy environment and supporting events and activities that contribute to the University's Student Recruitment Strategy. We are looking for an individual with experience of delivering excellent customer service, ideally within an events-based setting, and experience of working with large groups of casual staff.
You will hold GCSEs in English Language and Maths at Grade C / 4 or above, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experiential learning, together with a Level 3 qualification such as A Levels or BTEC, or an appropriate equivalent. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Occasional evening and weekend working will be required as part of the role.
