Job Description
Student Democracy and Events Coordinator

We're looking for a Student Democracy and Events Coordinatorto join our WrittleCampus Team -someone who is calm and customer focusedand provides high-quality support to a diverse range of people. They are committed on delivering excellent customer service standards whilst working in a democratic environment.

What you'll be doing: Student Voice and Representation
  • Coordinate and administer the student voice framework across the organisation.
  • Recruit, train, support, and develop Course Representatives.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Course Representatives and student leaders.
  • Organise and facilitate Course Representative meetings, forums, and feedback sessions.
  • In liaison with Union's Marketing and Communications Coordinator, ensure student feedback is collected, recorded, communicated, and acted uponappropriately.
  • Monitor actions arising from student feedback and provide updates to students and staff.
  • Produce reports and summaries on student voice activity and outcomes.
  • Democracy and Student Leadership.
  • Working in liaison with Union's Democracy Coordinator, support student elections and democratic processes.
  • Encourage democratic engagement and participation opportunities across the student body.
  • Support governance and student-led decision-making activities where required.
Events and Student Engagement
  • As directed by the Union Writtle Campus Manager, plan, coordinate, and deliver a programme of student engagement events throughout the academic year.
  • Coordinate event logistics, bookings, resources, budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Recruit and support student volunteers and ambassadors to assist with coordinating events and activities.
  • Evaluate events and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure activities comply with organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety procedures.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditure associated with events and activities.
Who we're looking for:
  • Someone who is calm andorganised who can facilitate Course Representative meetings, forums, and feedback sessions.
  • Customer focused with the ability to work with a range of people and canbuild positive working relationships, motivate volunteers and support student leaders to achieve shared objectives.
  • They are flexible and have strong time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently using theirinitiative while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff and external partners.

This is a role which allows you towork closely with students, student staff, permanent staff, and external partners to ensure students have opportunities to influence decision-making, engage in university life, and access activities that support their wellbeing.
