Job Description

Lead a team of 15 engineers, driving the design and delivery of a next generation structured notes issuance platform. Shape architecture, mentor developers, and ensure high standards of performance, scalability and resilience across technologies including Python, Java, React, MongoDB, OpenShift, and Camunda.

The Team

Part of a global technology team of 70 engineers supporting Structured Notes across London, New York, Singapore and Mumbai. The team collaborates closely with trading, structuring, sales and operations stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 15 engineers, driving delivery, performance, and technical excellence.
• Own the architecture and design of the structured notes issuance platform, ensuring scalability and resilience.
• Deliver high quality, business critical functionality aligned to front office and operational requirements.
• Act as a hands on technical leader across Python, Java, React, MongoDB, OpenShift, and Camunda.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and development processes.
• Partner with global stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable solutions.
• Collaborate across global teams to ensure aligned, consistent platform delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement through modern engineering practices, automation, and DevOps principles.

What we are looking for

• Strong experience leading and developing engineering teams, fostering a high performance culture.
• Solid technical background with hands on experience in modern software development (e.g. Python, Java, microservices, cloud native technologies).
• Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, resilient platforms in complex, business critical environments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work closely with front office and global teams to translate business needs into technology solutions.

Skills that will help

• Experience within Global Markets or knowledge of structured products / structured notes.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Camunda) or event driven architectures.
• Exposure to containerisation and cloud platforms (e.g. OpenShift, Kubernetes).
