Job Description
Overview

Structured Cabling Engineer (018jc) - Northwest/East Midlands - up to £40k+ Benefits. My client was established in 1994 and is a leader in the delivery of high-quality passive cabling solutions for the defence and other sectors. You will ideally be based in the Warrington/Liverpool region. You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and will work on internal and external copper and fibre cabling installations, install, terminate, and test cabling to high standards, and deploy containment systems such as conduit, trunking, tray, and basket. You will work in offices, manufacturing plants, construction sites, and data centres, with occasional travel and overnight stays as needed. They are looking for dependable, enthusiastic engineers to join their core delivery team at Level 1, 2, or 3.

Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6a and fibre cabling
  • Carry out containment and pathway installations
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in structured cabling systems
  • Install Wi-Fi access points, UPS units, and related equipment
  • Follow all safety standards, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Complete job documentation to company standards
  • Support wider business operations as needed
Senior Level Responsibilities (L2/L3)
  • Create and manage site-specific risk assessments and method statements
  • Oversee project delivery to deadlines
  • Conduct site surveys and produce technical documentation
  • Liaise with clients and provide regular updates
  • Recommend solutions and assist with project change control
Qualifications

To be eligible for these roles you will need the following:

Essential
  • CSCS/ECS site card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Industry training (IPAF, PASMA)
  • Strong technical understanding of data/fibre installations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Flexible, organised, and detail-oriented
Desirable
  • SC Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • 3+ years' experience in structured cabling installations
  • CNET CNCI qualification
  • Experience in defence, manufacturing, or data centre environments
  • Knowledge of JSP453, Tempest/Security regulations
Ideal Candidate Snapshot

The ideal candidates would have structured cabling experience, e.g., in Data Centres, on new build or renovations of office/commercial sites, with Copper and Fibre installations.
