Structural Engineer

London (South/Central) Full-time Permanent

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer with proven design and site experience to join a growing, multidisciplinary engineering team based in London.

The team delivers a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from large, complex developments to smaller, client-focused schemes. Work spans both the UK and international markets across sectors including advanced manufacturing, education, commercial development, and public sector infrastructure.

This role offers the chance to contribute to high-profile and technically challenging projects within a collaborative and design-led environment.

Role Responsibilities

You will support the delivery of structural engineering services across all project stages, including:

  • Preparing outline and concept structural designs aligned with client briefs
  • Undertaking detailed design calculations in accordance with Eurocodes
  • Using industry-standard 3D analysis and design software
  • Coordinating designs with architects, engineers, and specialists using BIM
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical drawings, reports, and specifications for tender
  • Attending site to monitor construction progress and provide technical input
  • Conducting structural surveys and assessments of existing buildings
  • Investigating structural defects and producing technical reports
  • Reviewing technical documents, including contractor submissions

About You

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Degree-qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Progressing toward professional chartership (e.g. ICE/IStructE)
  • Demonstrable experience in structural design and site-based activities
  • Familiarity with UK design standards and Eurocodes

Technical Skills:

  • Competence with structural analysis software (e.g. Tekla, SCIA, Masterseries, TEDDS or similar)
  • Understanding of structural behaviour and design principles
  • Awareness of sustainability considerations in structural engineering
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
