Job Description
Overview 
Structural Engineer - Iron & Steel Plants
Purpose: Design and analyse safe, sustainable, and cost-effective structures for iron and steel facilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities- Produce and review technical documentation (drawings, specs, calculations, manuals).
- Act as the structural lead on projects, ensuring technical integrity and commercial viability.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct structural calculations and review civil engineering aspects.
- Oversee manufacturing, testing, and installation of structures.
- Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments.
- Advise on construction methodologies and best practices.
- Strong grasp of heavy industry turnkey projects.
- Proficient in structural design and calculations (MathCAD/Excel).
- Basic CAD skills (Autodesk preferred); advanced 3D CAD is a plus.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Minimum 2 years in industrial structural engineering.
- Degree in Structural Engineering preferred; HNC/HND considered.
- Experience in heavy industry or iron & steel sector desirable.
- Project lifecycle exposure and professional membership advantageous.
